Problem:
You can just installed Microsoft Office 2003 and WebDocs Windows Office Plugins. When you open Word 2003, you get a -2xxxxxxx ActiveX error and the WebDocs Windows Addins menu does not display in Word. The WebDocs Windows Office Plugins DDLs are registered.
Solution:
- Check the macro security in Word and, if necessary, lower it. Restart Word and see if the problem is resolved.
- If the problem persists, Microsoft Office is loading the .Net 1.1 runtimes instead of the .Net 2.0 ones that the WebDocs Windows Office Plugins need. Use the following .exe.config files to load .Net 2.0 instead:
- Download and run the Download archive (which contains Word.exe.Config, Excel.exe.config and Outlook.exe.config files) to extract the .Net 2.0 configuration files for the Microsoft Office applications.
Three files (WORD.EXE.CONFIG, EXCEL.EXE.CONFIG and OUTLOOK.EXE.CONFIG) unzip to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11.
Note: If the files don?t automatically appear in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11 after unzipping, manually unzip them to c:\rjstemp and copy and paste to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11.
- Restart Word.
The WebDocs Windows Addins menu displays.
