Before You Begin
Read the following instructions carefully before you begin.
-
Follow these instructions only if you’re running Robot Schedule in an independent ASP (IASP) and want to interface the instance with Robot Network.
-
The Robot Schedule product library name must be ROBOTLIB.
-
You may have multiple ROBOTLIB instances across several ASP groups (or one in *SYSBAS). However, only one instance can be interfaced with Robot Network.
Part One—Update the Products
The following products must be at the version listed or higher:
-
Robot Network - R11M24
-
Robot Network nodes that have an instance of ROBOTLIB you want to interface to Robot Network - R11M24
-
Robot Network GUI - R11M24
-
Robot Schedule - R12M06
-
Robot Schedule GUI - R12M06
If any of these products aren’t at the current shipping release/modification level, some of the interface features to Robot Network may not be available for the ASP instance.
Part Two—Change the Job Descriptions
The following sections describe how to change the job descriptions in Robot Network to use the ASP group where ROBOTLIB is installed.
On the Host System
If you’re running ROBOTLIB in an IASP on your host system and want to interface that instance with Robot Network, follow these steps on the host system:
-
End the Robot Network node and host using the following commands:
RBTNETNODE/RBNENDNODE
RBTNETLIB/RBNENDHOST
-
Change all the job descriptions for Robot Network host and node using the following commands:
SETASPGRP ASPGRP(asp_group_name)
ADDLIBLE RBTNETNODE
RBNSETASPG
Notes on the RBNSETASPG command:
-
The RBNSETASPG command has no parameters. Press F1 for more information.
-
The RBNSETASPG command changes the job descriptions (JOBD) in both the RBTNETLIB and RBTNETNODE libraries.
-
The ASP group on the job descriptions changes to the value of your current ASP group.
-
Restart Robot Network host and node using the following commands:
RBTNETLIB/RBNSTRHOST
RBTNETNODE/RBNSTRNODE
On the Node System
If you’re running ROBOTLIB in an IASP on a node system and want to interface that instance with Robot Network, run the following commands on the node system:
-
End the Robot Network node using the following command:
RBTNETNODE/RBNENDNODE
-
Change all the job descriptions for Robot Network node using the following commands:
SETASPGRP ASPGRP(asp_group_name)
ADDLIBLE RBTNETNODE
RBNSETASPG
Notes on the RBNSETASPG command:
-
The RBNSETASPG command has no parameters. Press F1 for more information.
-
The RBNSETASPG command changes the job descriptions (JOBD) in the RBTNETNODE library.
-
The ASP group on the job descriptions changes to the value of your current ASP group.
-
Restart Robot Network node using the following command:
RBTNETNODE/RBNSTRNODE
After You Are Done
If Robot Network is set to change the job descriptions to an IASP but the ASP device is varied off or non-functional, Robot Network won’t run. If this occurs, go through the instructions again but set the ASP group to *NONE. Then restart Robot Network.
