Problem:

Device Not Found Error when opening WinView/400

Solution:

You may have a version of the VBRUN300.DLL file in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory which didn't match the version in the WINVIEW directory based on checking the file date/time. The file in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory was newer, but much smaller in size which says you somehow had a corrupted version of VBRUN300.DLL installed in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.

After renaming the file version in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory and copying the VBRUN300.DLL from the WINVIEW directory to WINDOWS\SYSTEM, WinView/400 works just fine.
