The following URL samples show you how to use WebDocs URL searching from other applications. By using URL searching, you can seamlessly  integrate other applications with WebDocs with little or no coding, simply launching the appropriate URL.  
 
Note: You must log in to WebDocs before running any URL searches, or you will receive an error.
 

WebDocs - Windows Version 1.0.50 and above

Use the following syntax for search URLs:
  • Begin with your WebDocs URL.

    For example:

    http://webdocs.yourcompany.com/webdoc.aspx
  • Type a question mark (?) after webdoc.aspx.
  • Use the following URL keywords, separating keywords with an ampersand (&):
    • To run the search (always include): action=search
    • To limit the search by title: doctitle=
    • To limit the search by Document Type (AP, AR, and so on): doctypekey=
    • To limit the search by the value of search keys 1-30: userdefined1= through userdefined30=
For example:
  • To a search for documents with the title Ingram, use:
    http://webdocs.yourcompany.com/webdoc.aspx?doctitle=Ingram&action=search
  • To a search for documents where the value of search-key 1 is application, use:
    http://webdocs.yourcompany.com/webdoc.aspx?userdefined1=application&action=search
  • To a search for documents where the value of search-key 1 is application and the value of search-key 2 is micro, use:
    http://webdocs.yourcompany.com/webdoc.aspx?userdefined1=application&userfield2=micro&action=search

Use the following syntax for search URLs:
  • Begin with your WebDocs URL.

    For example:

    http://rjsdemo.mywebdocsonline.com/webdoc.asp
  • Type a question mark (?) after webdoc.asp.
  • Use the following URL keywords, separating keywords with an ampersand (&):
    • To run the search (always include): dosearch=1
    • To limit the search by title: documenttitle=
    • To limit the search by Document Type (AP, AR, and so on): doctypekey=
    • To limit the search by the value of search keys 1-10: userfield1= through userfield10=
For example:
  • To a search for documents with the title Ingram, use:
    http://rjsdemo.mywebdocsonline.com/webdoc.asp?documenttitle=Ingram&dosearch=1
  • To a search for documents where the value of search-key 1 is application, use:
    http://rjsdemo.mywebdocsonline.com/webdoc.asp?userfield1=application&dosearch=1
  • To a search for documents where the value of search-key 1 is application and the value of search-key 2 is micro, use:
