Problem Statement:

If a user profile is setup incorrectly with a wrong OUTQ name or a wrong JOBD authority or both, an error appears when the user signs on to query.
ERROR: 'Error occurred in SQL call level interface _ HY017 '

Any subsequent user who tries to sign on to Query will also receive the same error.

Solution:

Fixed in IBM PTF for V6R1 and V7R1:
V6R1 - See APAR SE45716
Resolved by applying PTF 5761SS1  SI41813

To verify if PTF is applied already on V6R1, run command: DSPPTF LICPGM(5761SS1) SELECT(SI41813)

V7R1 - See APAR SE46127
Apply PTF 5770SS1 SI49603 and all pre/co-requisites

To verify if PTF is applied already on V7R1, run command: DSPPTF LICPGM(5770SS1) SELECT(SI49603)

Workaround:

  1. Check the QSQSRVR joblogs for why the login failed.
  2. Fix the profile by verifying the Authority, along with JOBD, OUTQ, LOCALE, or log in with a different profile.
  3. Once you are in the bad state where the ShowCase Server is hung,  you will need to recycle  the ShowCase server.

Note: If using JDE One World, make sure the 'SCSECUSR' value (System User - iSeries profile that makes the connection to iSeries) is a valid profile and has a valid job description.
