Some email recipients are receiving file attachments as embedded text in the message instead of as separate attachment files when using the SMTP option with the WinSpool/400 Email Report Server. The customer is using version 1.0.9 of the RJS SMTP Email API.


Listed below are a couple options to try:
  1. Turn off the Use Short Subject Line setting and see if the Email Report Server is working correctly again.
  2. If the above option doesn't work, go into the Edit Report Descriptions screen and stretch the data lines so that multiple lines of data are displayed for each record. Check each Report Description. Most likely a CR/LF (Carriage Return/Line Feed) keystroke combination was inadvertently entered into one of the Report Description fields.
