Below are the know issues and corresponding workarounds to work with Showcase client on Windows Server 2008 R2 system.
Installation issue while installing Showcase client on the Windows Server 2008 system.
Workaround:
While installing Showcase client on Windows Server 2008 R2 system, the error message, "InstallScript Setup Launcher has stopped working", can occur. Click on close the program and re-run the setup.exe (without uninstalling previous incomplete installation) and complete the installation.
Issue - Report Writer crashes on Windows Server 2008 R2 system
Workaround:
To run Report Writer successfully on Windows Server 2008 R2 system, following settings needs to be set for setup.exe:
DEP settings:
Go to Advanced system settings\Advanced\Performance\Settings\Compatibility settings:
Go to Data Execution Prevention tab.
Add Report Writer’s executable in the list and check the check box as per below screen shot:
Compatibility settings: Set the compatibility for the Report Writer to Windows XP Service pack 3.
Go to property dialog box of the setup.exe
Click on compatibility tab and set the compatibility.
Click on Change settings for all users and set compatibility as per below image:
Issue - Query application crashes intermittently while running dbq in a job through Enterprise Server.
Workaround:
Need to set DEP settings for Query application (i.e. Vista.exe) Please follow steps mentioned above to set the DEP settings.
Issue - Query application crashes while writing data into PDF output file format.
Workaround:
Need to set compatibility for Query application (i.e. Vista.exe) to Windows XP service Pack 3.
