QMessage Monitor has the ability to monitor FTP commands. It does this by generating messages, which can be processed by QMessage Monitor and displayed on the appropriate console.
Messages are generated for the following events:
- Directory/library creation
- Directory/library deletion
- Setting current directory
- Listing file names
- File deletion
- Sending a file
- Receiving a file
- Renaming a file
- Execute a CL command
IBM Exit Point
QMessage Monitor does not automatically configure this option. You must manually configure it. Before this facility can be used, you need to associate the exit program to the appropriate exit point.
This step must be done manually and that's by design. We did this in case other monitoring or security products are currently being used and you need to confirm that first.
Type the command WRKREGINF.
Page down until the QIBM_QTMF_CLIENT_REQ exit point is located and select option 8 to Work with exit programs.
Add the QMessage Monitor supplied FTP command monitoring program, MMFTPMON, to the QIBM_QTMF_CLIENT_REQ exit point.
Now, add the supplied FTP command monitoring program, MMFTPMON, to the QIBM_QTMF_SERVER_REQ exit point as well.
FTP Server
The FTP server will need to be ended and restarted for the changes to take effect. This is achieved by first ending the FTP server using the following command:
ENDTCPSVR SERVER(*FTP)
To restart the server type the following command:
STRTCPSVR SERVER(*FTP)

By default, these new messages will be sent to the QSYSOPR queue. However, if you wish to secure the messages or handle them differently, you can configure this via the creation of a specific data area and message queue:
