Profile Required for Install

 

Problem Statement:

What type of iSeries profile must be used to install, apply Fix Pack (patch) or stop and start a Showcase Server?

Solution:

To install ShowCase, apply a Fix Pack (patch) or stop and start the ShowCase server, you need to use QSECOFR or equivalent user profile with the following authorities( *ALLOBJ, *IOSYSCFG,*SAVSYS, *JOBCTL, and *SECADM) and settings below.

Note:

• Make sure the QSECOFR profile has NO Group profile or supplemental group associated with it.
• Make sure the QSECOFR profile has NO Home directory, only of the root ( / )
• Verify that the Coded Character Set Identifier (CCSID) is set to 37 for the QSECOFR profile

Use the DSPUSRPRF command to verify the above settings.
