Excel Add-in Not Attached After Install

 

Problem Statement:

After installing ShowCase Query, the ShowCase Query Excel Add-in was not attached immediately. When attempting to add it manually from the Tool | Add-ins menu, that is when the following error message appeared:

ERROR: scxadd32.xll is not a valid add-in.

Solution:

Resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling MS Excel and ShowCase using the following steps.

1. Uninstalled completely MS Office and ShowCase from the PC.
2. Remove all the  ShowCase Registry key located at:   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ShowCase
3. Re-Boot the PC.
4. Re-installed MS Office and re-boot the PC.
5. Reinstalled ShowCase Client on the PC, re-boot the PC and then apply any ShowCase Client patches.
