If you want to, you can use WinSpool/400 with TCP/IP connectivity without entering an AS/400 user ID and password each time. However, RJS Software does not generally recommend storing the user ID and password in the INI file, because of the risk that someone could find out the settings information.

Prerequisite: WinSpool/400 version 3.0.10 or above

To store with WinSpool/400 user ID and password, enter the following information in the WINSPL98.INI file under the [Settings] section:

[Settings]
UID=JOE (or whatever your user ID is)
PWD=PASSWORD (or whatever your password is)

Note: These entries also are not encrypted.
