Problem:
When you use a Microsoft MAPI email client, set up WinSpool/400 Email Report Server to start automatically as a service in Windows NT, and then open WinSpool/400 Email Report Server, you get the error:
Error Emailing Report: Email Report Server is not Active
Solution:
When you use a MAPI email client, you cannot run WinSpool/400 Email Report Server as a service.
Instead, to start WinSpool/400 Email Report Server automatically while using a MAPI email client:
- Remove WinSpool/400 Email Report Server from the Windows NT Services.
- Go to Start > Programs > Startup and place a copy of the WSPESR32.EXE shortcut in this folder.
- Right-click the WSPESR32.EXE icon in the Startup folder and click Properties.
- In Target, scroll to the end, type a blank space and then START in all capital letters.
For example: C:\WSPBCH32\WSPBCH32.EXE START
- Click OK.
This new command line starts WinSpool/400 Email Report Server automatically every time the PC restarts and a user logs in.
