Problem:

VIM Error 5 occurs while you open a Lotus Notes mail session.
 
You use roaming Notes user profiles and, as a result, have multiple NOTES.INI files on your PC.
 

Solution:

The NOTES.INI file in the WINNT directory has no MailFile entry. Copy a NOTES.INI file with the MailFile entry into the WINNT directory:
  1. Rename the NOTES.INI in the WINNT directory to NOTES.SAV.
  2. Copy the NOTES.INI file from their profile directory to the WINNT directory. This version of the NOTES.INI file has a valid MailFile entry.

    You are now able to log in to the Lotus Notes mail system using the RJS Software products.
