Review the following to copy configurations from one PC to another.

On your old PC

Copy the following files/folders:

Note: By default, the ProgramData folder within Windows is Hidden, so you’ll need to be sure to adjust that within the Explorer, if it’s not showing up.

  • C:\ProgramData\Midrange Performance Group\Performance Navigator 19\PerfNav4.ini
  • C:\ProgramData\Midrange Performance Group\Performance Navigator 19\Systems\

(the entire folder and its contents)

  • C:\ProgramData\Midrange Performance Group\Performance Navigator 19\RepSet_reportName.GpR

(files with this type of name are Report Sets. You will only have .GpR files if you have created custom Report Sets)

Note: The historical data itself is stored on the IBM i, so you don’t need to think about that during this process.

On the New PC

  1. Install Performance Navigator on your new PC, and run it once.
  2. Close Performance Navigator.
  3. Put the files you copied into C:\ProgramData\Midrange Performance Group\Performance Navigator 19\
  4. Open Performance Navigator and you will see your LPARs/Report Sets/etc.
  5. If you need to install an ODBC driver, refer to the following article: Installing an ODBC Driver.

Note: If you download from our FTP site, you can use the YouTube video starting around 2:30 for the rest of the installation steps.
