Review the following to copy configurations from one PC to another.
On your old PC
Copy the following files/folders:
Note: By default, the ProgramData folder within Windows is Hidden, so you’ll need to be sure to adjust that within the Explorer, if it’s not showing up.
- C:\ProgramData\Midrange Performance Group\Performance Navigator 19\PerfNav4.ini
-
C:\ProgramData\Midrange Performance Group\Performance Navigator 19\Systems\
(the entire folder and its contents)
-
C:\ProgramData\Midrange Performance Group\Performance Navigator 19\RepSet_reportName.GpR
(files with this type of name are Report Sets. You will only have .GpR files if you have created custom Report Sets)
Note: The historical data itself is stored on the IBM i, so you don’t need to think about that during this process.
On the New PC
- Install Performance Navigator on your new PC, and run it once.
- Close Performance Navigator.
- Put the files you copied into C:\ProgramData\Midrange Performance Group\Performance Navigator 19\
- Open Performance Navigator and you will see your LPARs/Report Sets/etc.
- If you need to install an ODBC driver, refer to the following article: Installing an ODBC Driver.
Note: If you download from our FTP site, you can use the YouTube video starting around 2:30 for the rest of the installation steps.
