Determine Showcase 9 Server Version and Patch Level

Issue one of the following commands to retrieve your Showcase version (replace ‘SCSERVER’ with the name of your ShowCase server name):

For Showcase version 8.xx or 9.xx
SCSERVER/DSPSCVER

For Showcase version 7.x
SCSERVER/DSPSCAUT

Take a print screen of the results displayed and place into a word document.
Save the document as Server.doc and attach to an email.


Determine Showcase 10 Versions

  • For Showcase, enter the command SCVER.
  • For Viewpoint, select Help/About on the Viewpoint main menu.
  • For Sequel Web Interface, enter the command SWVER.
  • For Esend, enter the command ESVER.
  • For SWS Server, select Help/About from a browser connected to a SWS server.


Determine Operating System Version

Issue the following command to display the IBM i O/S version:
DSPPTF

Look for ‘Release of base option’ at the top of the screen.

Take a print screen of the results displayed and place into a word document.
Save the document as OS.doc and attach to an email.


Determine IBM i PTF Level

Issue the following command to display IBM i PTF levels:
WRKPTFGRP

Take a print screen of the results displayed and place into a word document.
Save the document as PTF.doc and attach to an email.


Determine Showcase Client Version and Patch Level

Start Showcase Query and select Help\About Query from the main menu.

Take a print screen of the results displayed and place into a word document.
Save the document as SC client.doc and attach to email.


Determine Client Operating System Version and Service Pack Level

Right-click My Computer and select Properties\General tab (for Window 7, press Start, right-click Computer, and select Properties).

Take a print screen of the results displayed and place into a word document.
Save the document as PC_OS.doc and attach to an email.


Determine Excel Version (optional)

If you are having an issue with Showcase Query Excel Add-ins, do the following to check your Excel
version information:

For Excel 2003: Open Microsoft Excel and select Help\About MS Excel
For Excel 2007: Open Microsoft Excel and select Start\Excel Options\Resources
For Excel 2010: Open Microsoft Excel and select File\Help

Take a print screen of the results displayed and place into a word document.
Save the document as Office.doc and attach to an email.

Take a print screen of all error screens related to Showcase and Excel.
Save the document as Error.doc and attach to an email.

Provide the detailed steps taken from the opening of Showcase Query to the error encountered along with any additional details you think may be significant.
