Windows 7 does not allow access to the registry or work files on a machine. As a work-around, set the properties for an EXE so that it runs as an administrator.
To set an EXE to run as an administrator, either:
- Right-click the shortcut to the EXE and choose Properties.
- In Compatibility > Privilege Level, check Run As Administrator.
Windows creates a registry entry for the application to run as an administrator for the current user.
