Moving the QSystem Monitor Host to Another System

 

Follow these steps to move the QSystem Monitor host system and its data to a new host system:

On the Old Host System

1. End the product for all systems.
2. Use the MONPURGE command to reduce the amount of historical data to be transferred to the new host system.
3. Save the QSystem Monitor product library.
4. Type MONCFG to go to the System Data Screen. Press F8 to get to the System Defaults Maintenance Screen. Here you must enter the name of the new host in the System Name field.

On the New Host System

1. Clear the QSystem Monitor product library (by default named MSM) and restore the product library saved earlier.
2. Clear the QSystem Monitor work library (by default named MSMTEMP).
3. On the new host, type MONCFG to go to the System Data Screen. Press F8 to get to the System Defaults Maintenance Screen. Here you must enter the name of the new host (local system) in the System Name field. This must be the same name as in the system definition for this system in QSystem Monitor.
4. Change the value of data area MONSYSLC in the QSystem Monitor product library to the name of the local system.

Start the product for all systems.
