In order to use the EHNAPPC.DLL library which is included with Microsoft SNA Server, the following steps must be taken:
  • Install the SNA Server 16-bit client software on the selected PC.
  • If the EHNAPPC.DLL and EHNRTRW.DLL files in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory are dated 6/25/95 or older, you will need to get an updated version of the files. These files can be obtained from any of the Microsoft SNA Server Service Packs.  The updated EHNAPPC.DLL should be dated 12/18/95 or later. The new files can be copied over the existing EHNAPPC.DLL and EHNRTRW.DLL files in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.
  • The following section needs to be added to the WIN.INI file:
    [SnaServerEHNAPPC]
    LocalLu=MPLSNT1
    S1025566=JOE
The section listed above is an example, so the MPLSNT1 entry should be replaced with an appropriate SNA Server Local LU name assigned to your SNA Server. The S1025566 entry should be replaced with your AS/400 system name and the user JOE can be replaced with an appropriate AS/400 user ID name.

After all of the above steps have been completed, you should be able to safely use the SNA Server version of EHNAPPC.DLL
