List of Embedded Commands

The following is a list of commands that can be embedded into the user defined data of a spool file and picked up by one or more RJS Software products.

The user defined data is a 255-character-length field that is a part of the attributes of each iSeries spool file. You can override this field during spool file creation (changed after creation) by changing the USRDFNDTA parameter.

Note: These commands are case sensitive. They must be in upper case. The values that follow do not need to be in any particular case.

FAXTO

This command lets you embed fax information in the user defined data of a spool file that Enterprise Fax can read:

FAXTO:To Phone #;To Name;To Company Name;Voice Phone #;From Email Address;Message Text~

Note:
  • Separate parameters with a semi-colon ( ; ).
  • End the command with a tilde ( ~ ).

For example:

SUBJ:These products are so great that we should purchase some more for other areas of production~

For Email Report Server/400 and all other applications, use SUBJECT.

Note: End the command with a tilde ( ~ ).

For example:

ATTACHNAME:Invoice~

If you are using this command with WinSpool/400 Email Report Server, you also need to do the following:

  1. Under File > Settings, choose the Work Files tab.
  2. In Spool File Temporary Work File, change the file name from REPORT.TMP to @USERDEFINED.TMP.
  3. In Standard Attach File Name, change the file name from AS400RPT.SPL to @USERDEFINED.SPL.
Note: The command overrides the default Attachment Name in the WinSpool/400 Email Report Server settings.

EXT

This command lets you set an email attachment's file extension. This command overrides the default Attachment File Extension in the WinSpool/400 Email Report Server settings.

Note: End the command with a tilde ( ~ ).

IMGSERVER

This command lets you set the index keys of a document when it is checked in to WebDocs iSeries. As of Batch Report Server/400 version 1.23, you can set WebDocs iSeries index values in the user defined data of a spool file with the OVRPRTF command when the iSeries or iSeries Report Splitter create a spool file.

Use the format:

IMGSERVER:Doc Title;Index 1;Index 2;Index 3;Index 4;Index 5;Index 6;Index 7;Index 8;Index 9;Index 10;Doc Type;Folder Level 1;Folder Level 2;Folder Level 3;Folder Level 4;Folder Level 5;

Note:
  • Separate parameters with a semi-colon ( ; ).
  • If you are not using a parameter, type a blank space between the semi-colons.
  • End the command with a tilde ( ~ ).

For example: To set:
  • The document title to Customer Invoice.
  • The first index key to 123456.
  • The second index key to Johnson Outboard.
  • The WebDocs iSeries Document Type to AR.
  • The Webdocs folder to ACCT/AR.
Use:

IMGSERVER:Customer Invoice;123456;Johnson Outboard; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ;AR;ACCT;AR; ; ; ;~

WEBDOCS

This command lets you set the index keys of a document when it is checked in to WebDocs Windows.

Use the format:

WEBDOCS:Doc Title;Index 1;Index 2;Index 3;Index 4;Index 5;Index 6;Index 7;Index 8;Index 9;Index 10;Doc Type GUID;Folder GUID;

Note:
  • Separate parameters with a semi-colon ( ; ).
  • If you are not using a parameter, type a blank space between the semi-colons.
  • End the command with a tilde ( ~ ).

Combinations

All of the commands above can be combined in the user defined data. You have the full 255-character field to work with. You may use any or all of the above commands in any order in the user defined data. End each command with a tilde, or the commands will run together.

Warning: If your embedded commands exceed the 255-character limit, they will be automatically trimmed to 255 characters without warning. If you find this happening, contact RJS Technical Support to discuss alternate options.

The only exception to this rule is when WinSpool/400 Electronic Forms converts a spool file. In this case, the EXT: command is automatically added to the user defined data, so you have 8 or 9 characters less to work with. Note: Anything that was previously in the User Defined Data field is preserved when WinSpool/400 Electronic Forms makes this change.

For example: With Email Report Server/400:

EXT:PDF~MAILTO:[email protected]~SUBJECT:This is a test email~MAILFROM:[email protected]~ATTACHNAME:TEST~
