On the WRKSPLFE command, once a user sees the list of spooled files, is there any way to easily limit which options a given user can see and subsequently, execute? For example, I want somebody to have the authority to "E=ESndMail" but do not want anybody to use "I=CpytoIFS", from the WRKSPLFE command. I want to be able to limit who can do what intereactivly, without affecting any batch jobs that they submit jobs where our programmers have embedded a ESEND command.

Thanks in advance,

Hi Jim,

To limit use of a menu option, use OS/400 object authority to restrict use of the command that corresponds to the menu option.

In this case the command to restrict would be CPYSPLIFS in the ESEND library.

WRKOBJ ESEND/CPYSPLIFS *CMD

Option 2 - Edit authority

Enter the USERID *EXCLUDE
