Q. How can I configure Ubuntu to return Host Resources information?

A. The default install is set to "paranoid", which doesn't include any Host Resources information (you can verify this with "snmpwalk -v 1 -c public localhost"). Edit /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf, comment out the line that starts "com2sec paranoid default", and uncomment the line that starts "com2sec readonly default", changing the community string if you don't want that information to be publicly accessible. Then run "sudo /etc/init.d/snmpd reload" and re-poll the device from InterMapper.
