Q. There is a progress bar displayed during autodiscovery on my Windows client, but not when I view it on an OS X client.
A. The progress bar will only display on the client that started the auto-discovery. Scan Network will not display the progress bar. If you close the map and re-open it, the progress bar will not be displayed.
So, if you started autodiscovery from the Windows client, you will only see the progress bar in the Windows client- even if you were also viewing the same map from the OS X client.
