Q. I am trying to attach a device to a switch port. Each time I drag the link from the network oval to the switch port, the link pops back to the network oval. Both the switch port and the network oval are on the same subnet.

A. Open the Info window for the switch port and click the 'Add Subnet' button to manually add the subnet to the Subnet List, and then try dragging the link to the switch port again. The device should remain attached to the switch port.

This doesn't seem to work anymore. I no longer see the 'Add Subnet' button.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the report. I verified with a couple of InterMapper releases that this entry field still exists.

Please be sure you're opening the Info window for the link (at the circle at the end of the link line) rather than the Info window for the device itself.

Adding networks to an interface is allowed, but not to the device itself.

If I'm misunderstanding what the issue is, please use the Support > Submit new case link above to send further information, including InterMapper release, and if possible a screenshot of what you're seeing and we'll open a support case. Thanks,

Mike Maki
