This happens due to screen handling on OS X in OpenJDK when using multiple monitors, as the result of a bug which shows up when using the Java SwingUtilities.
It is documented in a bug filed by OpenJDK.
Once this bug is fixed in OS X, InterMapper's charts should be content to stay where they are put.
