Q. I have a question on sending InterMapper log files to a syslog server. In the Server Settings > Log Files settings, for Severity, do the choices reflect the severity level of the messages that are sent? For example, if I choose error, will it include emergency, alert, critical and then exclude warning, notice, informational, and debug messages?
A. No. The Severity and Facility codes are constant settings.
If you choose Severity of ERROR for a log, all syslog messages are sent with a severity of ERROR, even okay and up messages.
