If you register using their WIFI as the basis for your Hardware ID, then turn off the wireless (after registering), and pull up the registration dialog, you may see this message.
You are most likely to see this from users with Mac laptops since turning the wifi off actually hides the MAC address from the OS, or the other situation is using an Ethernet adapter like thunderbolt or USB to ethernet.
