Q. I am trying to connect to the InterMapper database using pgAdmin but I am unable to make the connection from a remote machine. I have created an internal database user on the user-creation page, and I can login to the database if I run pgAdmin from the server where InterMapper DataCenter is installed.
A. In InterMapper DataCenter 5.1 and higher, there is a 'Remote Login' check-box on the user-creation page in tne IMDC web admin interface. If you check that, and click 'Save', then that user can log in from anywhere. Otherwise you can only log in from the same machine where IMDC is installed.
